6.4.1. Instructions on carrying out of repair work with antiblocking system

ATTENTION Basically the antiblocking system does not demand servicing. Works on check, installation and repair are authorised to be spent only to specially trained personnel. Ignoring of the points specified in the repair manual can lead to damage of system and safety decrease at driving.

Before carrying out of repair work on antiblocking system it is necessary to establish the reason of its damage by means of self-diagnostics function.

At installation of the new hydraulic block of management it is necessary to check up its code.

Before installation works switch off ignition. For cars with the coded radio tape recorder define a protective code and disconnect a wire of connection with weight from the accumulator plug.

At the reference with a brake liquid it is necessary to carry out operating safety precautions regulations and instructions.

At carrying out of any works demanding opening of hydraulic system, it is necessary to remove air from brake system (for example with or V.A.S 5234). Besides, in brake system it is necessary to execute check at high and low pressure.

At a final trial trip be convinced that at least it has been once executed regulated ABS braking (the pulsation on a brake pedal should be felt).

At work with antiblocking system observance of the maximum cleanliness is required. Use of the auxiliary means containing mineral oils, for example oils, консистентные greasings, etc. is inadmissible

Places of connections and space round them should be cleared carefully before a detachment, not to use aggressive cleaners, for example, a cleaner for brakes, gasoline, thinners and similar means.

The removed details lay on a pure surface and cover.

If repair of the removed details does not be carried out immediately, they should be covered or put carefully in pollution preventing them a place (use a repair set заглушек 1 H0 698 311 A).

Do not use the rags leaving fibres.

Spare parts should be taken out from packing directly ahead of installation.

Use details only in original packing.

If the system is opened, it is not authorised to work with compressed air and to move the car.

Watch that the brake liquid has not got to sockets.
