1.4.9. System of pillows of safety

The pillow represents a part of the general concept of passive safety.

At dangerous face-to-face collisions the system of forward pillows of safety together with three-dot seat belts provides additional protection of area of a head and a thorax of the driver and the forward passenger.

At strong lateral collisions lateral and head pillows reduce danger of damages of the passengers who are in a zone of blow.

Seat belts, along with their traditional protective function, should keep in case of failure the driver and the forward passenger in such position that pillows could reveal and provide additional protection correctly.

The system of pillows of safety works only at the included ignition. Readiness of function of system of pillows is supervised by electronics and deduced on the display by means of a control lamp AIRBAG.

THE NOTE At надувании pillows the fine dust is formed. It normally also does not testify to car fire.

The forward pillow of safety of the driver is in the panel of a covering of a steering wheel (fig. 1.131). The forward pillow of the forward passenger is over a ware box on the right side of the panel of devices (fig. 1.131). The site of pillows is designated by an inscription AIRBAG.

Completely надутые pillows reduce danger of damages of a head and the top part of a trunk.

The system of pillows of safety is calculated on operation of pillows of the driver and the forward passenger at dangerous face-to-face collisions.

In special emergencies can work both forward, and head and lateral pillows.

At system operation there is a filling of air cushions by working gas and their disclosing before the driver and the forward passenger. Надувание safety pillows occurs for the 100-th fractions of a second and to a great speed for the purpose of maintenance of additional protection at failure. At contact with completely надутой the air cushion extinguishes advance of the driver and the forward passenger and danger of damages of a head and the top part of a trunk decreases.

Specially developed design of an inflatable pillow provides an operated exit of working gas under the influence of the driver or the passenger for the purpose of softening of reception of a head and a trunk. Thereof occurs сдувание pillows after its operation and as a result the forward review is again released.

ATTENTION The driver and the forward passenger should maintain the minimum distance of 25 sm but to the relation to a steering wheel/panel of devices.

At lateral collisions the lateral pillow together with system of head pillows (SIDEGUARD) raises degree of security of passengers.

Lateral pillows of safety are in a covering of backs of forward and lateral back seats (fig. 1.132). The site of pillows is designated by an inscription ATRBAG.

At dangerous lateral collisions the system of lateral pillows of safety together with three-dot belts provides additional protection of all top part of a trunk (a breast, a stomach and a basin) the driver and passengers.

At dangerous lateral collisions lateral pillows reduce risk injury from outside doors.

At operation of lateral pillows of safety, for the purpose of increase of degree of protection of passengers, from the corresponding party always head pillows (SIDEGUARD) also reveal.

Completely надутые lateral pillows reduce danger of damages of the top part of a trunk.

At dangerous lateral collisions the lateral pillow of the corresponding party of the car (fig. 1.132) reveals.

In special emergencies can work both forward, and head and lateral pillows.

At system operation there is a filling of air cushions by working gas.

The lock-switch located in a ware box it is possible to disconnect a pillow of safety of the forward passenger.

The Lock-switch of switching-off of a pillow of the forward passenger is in a ware box (fig. 1.133).

For switching-off of a pillow of the forward passenger turn a car key in position 0.

The pillow joins key turn in position 1.

Of the pillow of the forward passenger disconnected by the lock-switch reminds constant burning of an alarm lamp PASSENGER A1RBAG OFF.

THE NOTE At the disconnected pillow of the forward passenger all other pillows of the car are in operating conditions.
